Hasta la Vista Vegas

Last night we experienced Freemont Street with its spectacular $55 million light show and tribute to 60s and 70s music. What a night! Tony got the Vegas welcome from some showgirls and we danced to Eagles and Creedance tribute bands. We had our photo taken with $1 million cash, saw the world’s largest gold nugget and a swimming pool with a shark tank centre. Freemont Street was the old Las Vegas strip and casinos which we remembered from Saturday Elvis matinee’s. Just fabulous! Now we are on the road to Flagstaff via the Hoover Dam and Lake Mead. Thank god we got a van, as its almost full of stuff already. Hoover Dam is amazing, mostly to see the drop in water levels on the canyon walls. The region is pretty arid, littered with inspection stations searching for illegal immigrants. Its 39 degrees already and its only mid morning! Texas is another 10 degrees hotter still. Most Americans think we mad to be heading there at this time of year! Luckily we are able to stay with people in Flagstaff, Albuquerque and Amarillo (the Texans are even hosting a dinner party for us!). Hopefully there will be a Walmart there, we are already having withdrawls...
